Hanging Paper Lanterns - Decorating Tips For Your Next Party

Are you going to be hosting an outdoor party? Need some ideas for decorating? Colored paper lanterns provide great splashes of color that go along with your party color scheme. You can decorate with variations of one color, like light pink and dark pink.

Or if you choose to just use one dominant color, then hang different sizes - small, medium and large ones. The sizes of these outdoor party decorations range in size from 4" round to 48" round. The larger they are the more expensive.

Not only do these party lanterns come in different sizes, they also come in different shapes - like beach balls for a beach party or pumpkin ones for a Halloween party.

At our outdoor parties we start by hanging paper lanterns from the garden arbor as a way of saying, "The Party is This Way."

Hang them from tree branches, the patio umbrella ribs and on shepherd's hooks.

Place a string across the party food table and hang smaller lanterns.  They can also be strong across your deck railing or along the porch ceiling.

We love our battery operated paper lanterns. They take two AAA batteries and last for several hours - good for at least one evening but keep extra batteries on hand.

We use them for outdoor party lights and hang them from our patio umbrella ribs for evening dinners.

Set them on the table as the centerpiece and you will have color and light. They come in an assortment of colors or plain white.

The cheapest paper lanterns that I have found have been at our local dollar store. However, they only carry them in the spring and early summer.
